Adam Hillier, of Hillier Jewellers, explains the importance of local support to his family-run business
Hi there, it’s Adam Hillier from Hillier Jewellers, and I just want do a short piece on what it means to us as a family business when people choose to buy local. You know apart from the obvious, you know creating jobs for the local economy, the local area, it’s not just about that. For me I get a lot of enjoyment out of, you know, finding the right product for the right sale but again… I’ve developed friendships with customers over the years, I’m dealing with second-generation customers who my parents probably dealt with their parents over the years, and now they’re choosing to come to us which means a lot, it means that we must be doing something right if people are continuing to come back. And I genuinely just want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us prior to this over the last 40 plus years and certainly the people who have supported us over this crisis, and I’m really looking forward to getting the roller shutters up and getting people back into the store. But obviously we are only gonna do that when it’s safe to do so, so until then everyone stay safe, and yep, look after yourselves, bye.
